American soccer player Travis Kelce thanked ‘The Eras Tour’ on Wednesday for “mesmerizing” and “captivating” him, because thanks to that experience he ended up meeting his current girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
“I give ‘The Eras Tour’ the credit. Because if I had never gone to that concert and been mesmerized and captivated, and then left wanting to meet you so badly, I never would have gone to (‘New Heights’) and told everybody how hurt I was,” Travis told Swift on the ‘New Heights’ podcast he co-hosts with his brother Jason.
“I’ve never been so engrossed in the curiosity of who you were,” added the Kansas City tight end, who also claimed the pop star “did it so much better.”

Kelce attended a Swift concert in 2023 and, although he wanted to meet her that same day to give her a friendship bracelet with his number on it, he couldn’t because Swift didn’t receive visitors before or after her concerts.
After that experience, the athlete expressed in his podcast his disappointment at not having been able to meet her, but soon after they established contact.
This Wednesday, the singer revealed more details about her first encounter, confessing that she asked a ‘foolish’ question because she didn’t know anything about the rules of American soccer.
“On our first date, I legitimately asked him what it was like when the Chiefs played the Eagles in the Super Bowl and he looked across the field, past the line of scrimmage, and saw his brother standing on the other side…five feet in front of him on the field,” the singer recounted.
“Now I know how crazy that question was. (Travis) told me, ‘Actually, I’m on offense and so is my brother, and I’m just on the field at the same time as the defense.’ I thought everyone was on the field at the same time,” said Swift, who now considers herself “obsessed” with the sport Kelce is dedicated to.
On the episode of ‘New Heights’, the singer also announced that her upcoming studio album, titled ‘The Life of a Showgirl’, will be released on October 3. Moreover, she assured that it is inspired by her behind-the-scenes life during her world tour ‘The Eras Tour’.
