Eduardo Serrano’s departure comes just over a month after his daughter publicly revealed that the actor was facing an aggressive small cell lung cancer with brain metastasis.

In August, Magaly had started a campaign on the GoFundMe platform to raise funds to help defray the high costs of medical treatment in the United States. In her message, she explained that the process included chemotherapy, radiation, nursing care and palliative care, in addition to basic household expenses.

On September 3, days before his death, the actress reported that her father had been discharged and was at home in Lawrenceville, Georgia, receiving hospice care to ensure his comfort and companionship in a familiar environment.

Eduardo Serrano was born in Venezuela and developed a prolific career as a television, theater and film actor. He was one of the most relevant figures of Venezuelan soap operas, participating in numerous productions that led him to become an emblematic face for different generations of television viewers.
