The celebration of the first 25 years of the Latin Billboard Awards kicked off Thursday with the traditional parade of stars on the blue carpet, marked by an explosion of color, metallic glitter and a contrast of styles, textures and designs that, for the most part, left a lot of skin on display.
Among the best dressed was former Mexican Miss Universe Andrea Meza, in a tight-fitting black and white evening gown with a surprise deep neckline. Argentina’s Emilia wore another version of the same concept, with a white corset-short, while flanked by Carlos Vives, Wisin and Xavi, in red wine and black.
The Puerto Rican Olga Tañón and the Argentine Yami Safdie, who went for the elegant, but updated with semi-transparent fabrics, shone more classically and with lots of rhinestones. With pearl appliqués on a black dress, the iconic Latin star Rita Moreno made a surprise appearance, celebrating “still being alive at my ninety-three” (93 years old).

Peso Pluma, one of the most nominated and who was distinguished with the Vanguard Award, arrived dressed in a tuxedo, with an open shirt and an untied bow. On his arm was his partner and fellow artist Kenya OS, who wore a black rhinestone bodysuit and net skirt, to which she gave color with a royal blue boa.
“I am very excited to receive this award because I feel it is a recognition for the entire regional Mexican music industry,” said Peso Pluma, who also wore her hair almost cut short.
Laura Pausini, who is receiving the Icon award, chose a floor-length black lace gown, over which she wore a black rhinestone top that served as the main piece of jewelry.
“I feel happy with that smile that can’t be hidden, that comes out through the eyes, the smile and the skin,” indicated the Italian artist, who took the opportunity to promote her upcoming tour starting in 2026 in Spain.

Also in black and elegant appeared Daddy Yankee, with a suit of jacket and pants with black beads and a beautiful embroidered flower with appliqués on the pocket.
Yailín “La más viral” was among the few who tried to play with different fashion concepts with a blue-gray, long-sleeved, turtle-necked suit and top, and a skirt that looked like the cape of an onion.
While most of the women opted for formal attire, many with cutouts, although without causing great astonishment, it was the men who surprised with unexpected styles, for better or worse.
Venezuelan Danny Ocean wore very casual denim. Meanwhile, legendary Dominican merenguero Toño Rosario rolled his famous braids into a bun on top of his head, while wearing a black outfit reminiscent of a medieval warrior.
Elvis Crespo, a Hall of Fame inductee, arrived in a turquoise suit, silver tie and long black shirt. However, his best accessories were his four children, who for the first time appeared together on a carpet.

Spanish singer-songwriter Abraham Mateo managed to combine risk with classic elegance with an oversized black suit over a white shirt, in a maximalist style ensemble that stood out for the wide collar, wide pants and jackets of exaggerated proportions, in keeping with current trends.
The hosts, Colombian singer-songwriter Goyo, Mexican-American actress and model Elizabeth Gutiérrez and Mexican Javier Poza, wore traditional cuts, although with totally different colors and materials. “For me fashion is another way of expressing myself and I took this opportunity to tell who I am and what I care about,” Goyo told EFE, who wore a fuchsia-colored dress.
Unexpected, but well matched, colors were worn by Mexicans Jacqueline Bracamontes and Fabiola Guajardo, both in brown, and Ecuadorian actor Danilo Carrera, who wore a formal sky blue suit.
The 2025 edition of the Latin Billboard Awards will be held at the James Knight Center Theater in Miami, with Bad Bunny and Karol G as the most nominated and who were the big absentees from the carpet, reported Agencia EFE.
