On September 13, 2025, during the Mexican national holidays, the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas was the scene of one of the most anticipated fights of the year. Saúl Canelo Álvarez, who was defending his undisputed super middleweight championship belts, faced American Terence Bud Crawford, considered by many to be the best pound-for-pound fighter today.

The fight, part of Canelo’s deal with Riyadh Season for four international engagements, attracted not only thousands of fans, but also a constellation of sports and entertainment celebrities, making the event a global phenomenon.

Canelo’s entrance and the detail of the National Anthem

True to his style, Canelo stepped into the ring wearing a custom-made wardrobe by the luxury brand AMIRI.

A hooded poncho and black velvet shorts adorned with green, white and red crystals, gold fringe and custom boots reflected Mexican pride.

One of the peculiarities of the evening was the decision by Netflix and TKO Group Holdings not to include national anthems in the official ceremony.

However, the patriotic symbol was not absent.

Singer Fey privately sang the Mexican National Anthem in the dressing room, accompanied by Canelo and his team, minutes before the Jalisco native made his walk to the ring.

Contrary to other occasions in which artists accompanied his entrance, Canelo preferred to go up without celebrities, concentrating only on the fight.

To the rhythm of mariachi music and the song “México Lindo y Querido”, he entered the stage with his team.

Crawford, for his part, surprised by accompanying his entrance with the famous “Mariachi Song,” a cultural nod that did not go unnoticed.
