The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Portland Trail Blazers, the only team to beat them this NBA season, 115-123 on Sunday, while the Lakers defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 133-121 with the duo of Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves filling in for LeBron James.
The Thunder (20-1) stretched their winning streak to 12 in a row and added their 20th victory in just 21 games this season. Only the Blazers (8-12) were able to beat them in their previous meeting. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 26 points, extending his streak of consecutive games with 20 or more to 93. Only the legendary Wilt Chamberlain, with 126, has a higher mark. For the Blazers, Deni Avdija signed a triple-double with 31 points, 19 rebounds and 10 assists.
Seven in a row for the Lakers

JJ Redick gave rest to LeBron James, who is still recovering from sciatica.
Without James, Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves demonstrated yet another night of tremendous chemistry, which has the Lakers (15-4) in a better position than they were expected to be in.
Doncic signed a double-double with 34 points and 12 rebounds, while Reaves finished the game with 33 points. Seven wins in a row.
The Lakers dominated relentlessly from start to finish, with a maximum lead of 26 points, although they did not press the accelerator against the Pelicans (3-18), who are last in the NBA West.
Double overtime in Philadelphia

The Atlanta Hawks (13-8) needed two overtimes to knock off the Philadelphia 76ers (10-9) 134-142 in Joel Embiid’s return after missing the last nine games.
Embiid has only played in seven of the 76ers’ 19 games.
On this occasion, he scored 18 points in 30 minutes.
Jalen Johnson was the architect of Atlanta’s win with a career-high 41 points and 14 rebounds.
Johnson also hit back-to-back three-pointers in the second overtime to knock out the 76ers.
For the 76ers, Tyrese Maxey finished with 44 points.
Philadelphia forced overtime with a three-pointer of their own, but were caught out in the first overtime when they missed two free throws that would have given them the victory.
Knicks bring Toronto down to earth

The Toronto Raptors (14-7) fell 116-94 to the New York Knicks (13-6) at Madison Square Garden.
It was their second straight loss after stringing together nine wins in this 2025 NBA season.
