Liga MX continues to dominate the Concacaf club rankings, but the most recent movements in the rankings raised red flags for some of the most powerful teams in Mexican soccer. While Toluca and Cruz Azul maintain their leadership, historic clubs such as Tigres UANL and Club América lost positions, reflecting the growth of MLS teams in the region.

For Hispanic fans in the United States – where MLS continues to expand and coexists with a huge Liga MX fan base – this Concacaf ranking is a key thermometer for understanding which leagues are setting the pace for soccer in North America.

The most recent Concacaf ranking maintains Deportivo Toluca as the best club in the region with 1,263 points, followed closely by Cruz Azul with 1,262 units, both from Liga MX.

The two Mexican teams top the rankings thanks to their recent performance in domestic and international tournaments.

In third place is Inter Miami CF (1,254 points).

A team that has gained enormous international attention following the arrival of Lionel Messi and remains the top-ranked MLS club in the standings.

The Florida team’s presence in the top three of the Concacaf ranking reflects the competitive growth of the U.S. league, something that is increasingly relevant for Latino fans living in the United States who follow both MLS and Liga MX.

The most striking movement in the Concacaf ranking was the promotion of Vancouver Whitecaps FC (1,242 points).

They moved up to fourth place after advancing to the round of 16 of the Concacaf Champions Cup 2026 after eliminating Cartaginés of Costa Rica.

This advance caused Tigres UANL (1,240 points) to fall to fifth place, beaten by a minimal difference.

The pressure from MLS did not end there.

Los Angeles FC (1,240 points) climbed two positions after winning its first round series in the regional tournament.

This pushed Club América (1,236 points) to seventh place in the ranking.

These moves reflect increasingly balanced competition among clubs in Mexico, the United States and Canada.
