This Tuesday, from the White House, President Donald Trump affirmed that the military operations on Iranian territory have reached their turning point. According to the president, U.S. forces plan to withdraw from Iran within “two or three weeks”, assuring that the strategic objectives of the controversial operation have been pulverized.
“There is no reason for us to keep doing this,” Trump responded to questions about the duration of the conflict. The Republican justified this decision by revealing that, in the last few hours, massive air strikes destroyed a large part of Tehran’s missile manufacturing facilities. According to his assessment, the damage is so deep that it will take Iran 15 to 20 years to rebuild its war capacity. For Trump, the mission is accomplished: the threat has been neutralized by brute force.

But the withdrawal announcement comes with a warning that has sent shivers down the spines of crude-dependent economies.
When questioned about security in the Strait of Hormuz – the most important commercial artery for world oil – Trump was blunt: the United States will no longer be the guardian of that area.
“France, China and other countries will be able to supply their ships and fend for themselves,” he said.
In an earlier message via Truth Social, the president even challenged nations that did not support his military offensive to show “courage” and take control of the strait now that, according to him, the U.S. has already done “the dirty work.”
“Go get your oil,” was the phrase that closed his direct provocation to allied and rival powers.

Despite withdrawal plans, the reality on the ground remains explosive.
While Trump was talking about peace and withdrawal, the Kuwait Oil Corporation confirmed that one of its tankers was hit by a projectile launched from Iran while in the port of Dubai.
This economic pressure tactic by Tehran, which has kept the strait closed to most vessels, continues to generate total uncertainty.
The big question is: Will France and China be able to guarantee the security of the area without Washington’s military muscle, or will Trump’s withdrawal leave a power vacuum that will send fuel prices soaring to levels never seen before?
