U.S. President Donald Trump mourned Friday the death of actor and martial arts expert Chuck Norris, a Republican supporter whom he remembered as a “tough guy.”
“Chuck Norris was a great guy. A tough guy and a big supporter of mine. You wouldn’t want to fight him,” Trump declared upon learning from the press on the White House lawn of the actor’s passing.
The president asked journalists to send their condolences to the interpreter’s family.

Norris passed away Thursday morning at the age of 86 after suffering a sudden medical emergency.
The actor is remembered for his legendary fight with Bruce Lee in The Way of the Dragon (1972) and for his role in the television series Walker, Texas Ranger (1993), in which he played Cordell Walker, a Texas ranger who fights crime with his fighting style and strong moral code.

The series was a worldwide hit and eventually turned Norris into a viral phenomenon thanks to the popular “Chuck Norris Facts,” jokes that exaggerated his abilities to the impossible, such as “Chuck Norris doesn’t do push-ups, he pushes the Earth down.”

The interpreter was a recognized supporter of the Republican Party and publicly expressed his support for various conservative figures over the years, including Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump, reported Agencia EFE.
