The world holds its breath. The White House has confirmed that this Wednesday, April 1, at 9:00 Washington local time, President Donald Trump will issue an official message that could mark the beginning of the end of the armed conflict in Iran.
According to spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt, the president will provide a “major update” through official channels, in what many analysts consider the announcement of a military victory and the beginning of the U.S. withdrawal.

True to his direct style, Trump did not wait until Wednesday to drop hints.
This Tuesday he assured that the strategic objectives in Iranian territory have been “totally fulfilled”.
According to the Republican, the controversial and devastating operation ‘Epic Fury’ succeeded in dismantling Tehran’s military capabilities to such a degree that, in his words, it will take them 15 to 20 years to recover.
“We have destroyed their threat capability,” the president said, suggesting that the withdrawal of U.S. troops could be completed in as little as two to three weeks.
This statement seeks to appease a sector of the U.S. electorate that views a prolonged intervention with suspicion, but it also leaves questions hanging over the stability of the region after the power vacuum that Washington would leave behind.
The new order in the Strait of Hormuz
One of the most controversial points of Trump’s update is his plan for the security of the Strait of Hormuz, the nerve center through which much of the world’s oil flows.
Trump has made it clear that the United States does not intend to be the “eternal policeman” of the area and has issued an open (and named) invitation to other global giants – France and China.
For the president, it is these countries – directly interested in the constant flow of crude oil – who must now assume the responsibility and the costs of policing international waters.
This move represents a seismic shift in the region’s foreign policy, delegating security functions to powers that have not always shared the White House’s vision.
Five weeks of chaos and blood
While Trump speaks of success, the numbers tell a story of pain.
In little more than a month of hostilities led by the United States and Israel, the conflict has left a heartbreaking toll of more than 3,900 victims, according to human rights organizations.
In addition, the global economy has felt the impact with a generalized rise in oil prices, generating uncertainty that has rattled markets from Wall Street to Tokyo.
On Wednesday it will be known whether Trump’s words bring peace, or if they are just the beginning of a new and complex phase in the Middle East.
Do you believe that U.S. withdrawal is the solution or that leaving control to China and France is a historic mistake?
