Trump votes by mail in Florida after years of attacks on him

Mientras grita a los cuatro vientos que el voto por correo es un "fraude", el presidente envió su boleta desde Mar-a-Lago para las elecciones de Florida

In politics, actions often speak louder than speeches, and today Donald Trump gave us an anthology example. In the midst of special election day in Florida, it was leaked that the president used vote-by-mail voting to participate, the same method that just Monday he called “synonymous with voter fraud” at a rally in Memphis.

Despite leading a fierce crusade against mailed ballots since his first campaign in 2016, official records from the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections confirm that Trump’s ballot came directly from his luxury Mar-a-Lago resort.

“I call it mail-in voter fraud, and we have to do something about it,” Trump sentenced Monday.

However, his White House press office tried to downplay the issue, assuring that “everyone knows” that the president participates in the processes of his home state and that his vote should not be news.

The contradiction is not minor: Trump attributed much of his defeat in 2020 to this system and now, in 2026, he is using it again while his party is pushing the SAVE America Act in the Senate.

This legislation seeks to tighten requirements to register and vote, requiring proof of citizenship that Democrats consider a barrier for minorities and vulnerable groups.

What was at stake in this ballot?

The president’s vote was not for just any election.

Trump voted in the race for a Florida House seat, where Republican Jon Maples faced Democrat Emily Gregory.

For many analysts, this gesture by Trump shows that, beyond the “fraud” rhetoric, the president’s team knows that they cannot give away a single vote in Florida, especially when the margins are as close as we saw this Tuesday in their own “backyard.”

Do you think it is valid for a leader to criticize a system while using it for his own benefit, or is it a contradiction that takes away his credibility in the eyes of his followers? The controversy is served in the comments!
