U.S. President Donald Trump said Tuesday that an election victory this month by Argentine President Javier Milei would be “very important” and something “the world is watching.”
Trump received Milei for a lunch between both government teams at the White House and assured that the Argentinean has had “an incredible career” and that he is confident that “he is going to win this election”, for which he offered him his “absolute support”.

Javier Milei, in power since December 2023, and his La Libertad Avanza party face an important endorsement in the legislative elections on October 26.
Argentine President Javier Milei’s economic reform program could suffer a major setback if the opposition obtains sufficient majorities.
According to President Donald Trump, Javier Milei “inherited a mess” and considered that the support of his Administration and this visit to the White House, the first for Milei, will help his popularity in the polls.
President Trump said that the reason for his political support of Javier Milei is because it is important “that a great philosophy conquers a great country” and that other countries in Latin America follow the path of Milei and his ultra-libertarian movement.
He assures that “he is a great leader”.
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, smilingly greeted his Argentine counterpart, Javier Milei, whom he described as a “great leader” on Tuesday, in the Latin American’s first official visit to the White House.
“We want (the people of Argentina) We are here to support them. You have a great leader,” Trump said as he shook hands with Milei, who arrives in the U.S. days after Washington reached out to reflate Argentina’s economy.
