The 2026 edition of the World Cup will feature 48 teams for the first time.

The format: 12 groups of 4 teams each; the first two of each group plus the eight best third teams (total of 32 teams in direct elimination) will advance.

A total of 104 matches will be played between June and July 2026, in 16 host cities in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

The host nations – Mexico, Canada and the U.S. – have already been assigned to the draw and secured predetermined positions in the draw.

1. Mark the calendar: The December 5 draw is key to know when your national team will play, and you can follow it from the USA.

2. Get ready for the new format: More Hispanic teams may participate in the 2026 World Cup, which opens up opportunities for teams from Latin America, something the Latino community should follow closely.

Travel and tickets: With venues in the U.S. and Mexico, many U.S.-based Hispanic fans may consider attending; keeping track of host cities and sales phases will be crucial.
