The San Francisco 49ers’ 19-22 win over the Las Vegas Raiders and the Baltimore Ravens’ 13-31 victory over the Dallas Cowboys highlighted Saturday’s second week of the NFL preseason.
The 49ers outlasted the Raiders in a thrilling game that was defined in the final second by a 59-yard field goal made good by Jake Moody.

Brock Purdy led the Gambusinos’ offense in the first quarter, passing for 66 yards; Mac Jones, his replacement, completed 13 of 16 completions for 135 yards and was intercepted once.
In Dallas, the Ravens prevailed 13-31 over the Cowboys led by Dallas expatriate Cooper Rush, who completed 20 of 30 completions for 198 yards and a touchdown; he suffered two interceptions.
In the duel between New York teams, the Giants triumphed 31-12 over the Jets. For the Giants, Russell Wilson totaled 108 yards per pass and was intercepted once.
Also on Saturday, the Los Angeles Rams defeated the Chargers 23-22 and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 14-17.
Earlier in the day, the New England Patriots beat the Minnesota Vikings 12-20 in a game in which Venezuelan kicker Andrés Borregales had an outstanding performance for the second consecutive week.
Borregales contributed five points in the victory. He connected on two extra point attempts and a 51-yard field goal. In the second quarter he missed a 57-yard field goal attempt.
In other games, Cleveland Browns, with rookie Dillon Gabriel at the controls, defeated the champion Philadelphia Eagles 13-22.
Gabriel passed for 143 yards, suffered an interception that cost his team seven points, and was caught a couple of times.
In Houston, the Texans defeated the Carolina Panthers 3-20, a team in which quarterback Andy Dalton had to leave the game with an elbow injury. Dalton will undergo further tests to rule out a serious injury.
In the rest of the results, Detroit Lions beat Miami Dolphins 17-24 and Green Bay Packers defeated Indianapolis Colts 19-23.
This Sunday, the activity will continue with the visit of the Jacksonville Jaguars to the New Orleans Saints and the duel between Chicago Bears and Buffalo Bills.
Week 2 of the preseason will conclude on Monday with Commanders-Bengals.
