Murphy and Vogt joined the exclusive club of Bobby Cox (2004-2005), and Kevin Cash of the Rays (2020-2021), who have been winners in back-to-back seasons.

Murphy, 66, edged out Rob Thomson of the Philadelphia Phillies and Terry Francona of the Cincinnati Reds in the voting.

Vogt beat out Dan Wilson of the Seattle Mariners and John Schneider, who led the Toronto Blue Jays to the MLB World Series.

Murphy, who last season became the first manager in Brewers history, led the squad to set the best record in the majors (97-67).

The Brewers again advanced to the postseason, where they fell to the Los Angeles Dodgers, also the 2024 MLB champion.

The MLB Manager of the Year award is presented by the members of the BBWAA.

Each journalist votes before the postseason begins, choosing the three best managers in the American League and the National League.

Points are awarded according to position on the ballots (5 for first place, 3 for second place and 1 for third place).

The final result will be published in November.

The recognition values leadership, roster management and overall team performance during the MLB regular season, beyond statistics.
