The president’s granddaughter is 15 strokes behind the tournament’s leading group of eight women.

Kai Trump will participate this Friday in the second round, although it will be difficult for him to make the cut.

The tournament lead is in the hands of a group of eight women who finished the first round tied at -2 (68 strokes).

The Swedish Linn Grant or the American Allisen Corpuz are part of this group.

Spain’s Carlota Ciganda and Mexico’s Gaby Lopez are at -1, just one stroke behind the leading group.

Kai is participating in the tournament as an amateur and invited by a sponsor of the tournament, which runs through Sunday at the Pelican Golf Club in Belleair.

Although Donald Trump was not present for his debut, Kai said that his grandfather, a great lover of golf, had recommended that he go out and have fun and avoid nerves.

Kai also admitted that he received advice from golfer Tiger Woods, the current partner of his mother, Vanessa Trump, who advised him to let loose and have fun.
