In recent days, Myrka Dellanos’ name has grabbed headlines and conversations on social networks, not only because of the statements she offered about her departure from the program La Mesa Calientebut also for the blunt comments she made against a former colleague who was very close to her professional career: María Celeste Arrarás. The journalist’s words revived an old controversy related to her time on Primer Impacto, one of the most emblematic news programs on Hispanic television.
During an interview with Juan Manuel Cao, Myrka expressed her disagreement with versions that, according to her, do not reflect the truth of what happened at that time. The presenter said that certain public statements made by María Celeste affected her image and fueled unnecessary speculations about her personal life.
The accusation: conflicting versions about Myrka Dellanos’ departure
According to Dellanos, Arrarás allegedly insinuated that her departure from the newscast was related to an alleged romantic relationship with singer Luis Miguel, something Myrka categorically denies. For her, this version was not only inaccurate, but also damaged her professional reputation.
“That was what hurt me because it was not true and there was never a rectification. I asked her to clarify it, but it didn’t happen,” Myrka pointed out in the interview. Although she acknowledged that she does not know if those words were a personal decision or part of an editorial script, she made it clear that that episode marked a before and after in her relationship with her ex-partner.
Dellanos’ statements did not take long to reach María Celeste’s ears, who decided to respond in a conversation with journalist Mandy Fridmann. In her posture, Arrarás assured that both remember the situation differently, but denied having the intention of harming Myrka.
“I would never do anything on purpose to harm her. I am very fond of her and we shared many years of work and friendship,” she expressed, stressing that the relationship between them remains on cordial terms, despite the differences of interpretation about the facts.
A gesture of support in difficult times
María Celeste also revealed that when she learned of Myrka’s departure from Telemundo and La Mesa Caliente, she was one of the first people to contact her to offer her support. According to her, this gesture reflects that, beyond any disagreement, there is a bond of respect and solidarity between both communicators.
“I gave her my unconditional support, as I always will,” Arrarás assured, hinting that there is no open enmity between them, but rather a difference in perspectives.
A few months ago, María Celeste had planned to return to television with a new program on Univision titled Más fuerte que nunca (Stronger than ever). The program would focus on in-depth interviews with entertainment, music and cultural figures, seeking to show the most human side of the guests.
Although the premiere was scheduled for March 2025, the project was unexpectedly cancelled and the network did not reveal the official reasons. Thus, both Myrka and María Celeste continue to go through stages of professional changes, now under the constant attention of the public and the media.
