The singer Pepe Aguilar issued an official statement this Friday, February 13, 2026, to clarify the situation involving his family, after an armed aggression against security personnel in an area near one of his properties in Zacatecas.
The news generated concern because the area of the incident is close to his residence and the ranch of one of his daughters.

Pepe Aguilar assured that at the time of the incident he was in Mexico City and that his family is out of danger.
“Contrary to what many media are asserting, I am in Mexico City. My family is fine,” he said in his message.
With these words, the singer sought to stop rumors suggesting that he or any of his loved ones could be at risk after the confrontation.
The artist explained that what happened was an active operation in the area near his home and the ranch located in the state of Zacatecas.
“This is the real situation that is being experienced at the moment”, he pointed out, while expressing his desire for tranquility to return soon to the entity.
Aguilar also took the opportunity to express his solidarity with the local population: “Like many Zacatecans, today we are going through difficult times in our land. It is my deepest wish that peace will soon return to our beloved Zacatecas.
Details of the confrontation
According to information confirmed by the state government, the aggression was directed against the Zacatecas Immediate Reaction Forces (FRIZ).
The attack occurred in the municipality of Villanuevaspecifically near the community of Tayahua, on the stretch of road that connects with the town of Tabasco.
The ranch owned by the Aguilar dynasty is located in that area, which caused the news to quickly go viral and speculation arose about the safety of the singer and his family.
The Secretary of Government, Rodrigo Reyes Mugüerza, informed that no casualties were reported among the security forces and that the immediate deployment allowed the situation to be controlled.
The arrest of several people allegedly involved in the aggression was also confirmed.
Local authorities detailed that a security operation was implemented by land and air in the region of Villanueva in order to guarantee the protection of the inhabitants.
In addition, the public was advised to avoid driving on the affected stretch of road while investigations and the prosecution of the detainees continue.
Meanwhile, Pepe Aguilar reiterated that his family is safe and called for calm, stressing that, although the environment has been complex, information must be handled responsibly.
