Mexican striker Raúl Jiménez signed on Tuesday his contract for two seasons, with an option for another one, with Wolverhampton, relegated this season from the EnglishPremier League and to which he returns three years later, after the end of his contract with Fulham, according to his destination club.

Described by his new team as “one of the most iconic players in the modern history” of Wolves, the attacker already played there between 2018 and 2023, scoring 57 goals in 166 games, according to Wolwerhampton’s official figures.

“His goals led Wolves to a seventh-place finish in the Premier League in his debut season in England.”

“Before an even more remarkable campaign followed in 2019-20. The number ‘9’ scored 27 goals in all competitions.”

He recalled his club in a statement on its official website.

“But Jimenez’s influence on the club extended far beyond goals.”

“His resilience after the serious head injury he suffered against Arsenal in 2020 and the determination he showed to fight back in his prime only strengthened the admiration fans had for him,” Wolves stressed.

Raul Jimenez will once again wear the ‘9’ shirt at Wolverhampton on loan from Adam Armstrong after learning of the striker’s return, the club said.

“He is one of the best in our history.”
