Alejandro Fernández responded to the versions that emerged in social networks about an alleged health problem. In the last few days, several users expressed concern after images of one of his concerts were viralized in which his tongue seemed to have a greenish tone.
The singer decided to clarify the situation publicly a few hours before his participation in the opening ceremony of the 2026 World Cup, where he will perform the Mexican National Anthem. During a meeting with the Mexican press on June 9, “El Potrillo” was directly questioned about his physical condition and whether he was still suffering from a sore throat.

According to the interpreter, the visual effect was accentuated by the quality of the video and the saturation of the image on the screen. He stated that he does not understand why so much speculation was generated from that moment captured on camera.
“Besides, after all, you can see in the camera and on the screen that it’s supersaturated. So, I don’t know, to tell you the truth, I don’t understand why they want to make news where there is none.”
The singer also hinted at his discomfort with the rumor and pointed out that the information was promoted by someone who constantly seeks to generate controversy around him.
“No, this is from a journalist who has always been screwing me.”
His words reflected his weariness with unfounded versions about his personal life and health, especially when they are quickly amplified on social networks.

Beyond the controversy, Alejandro Fernández was focused on his upcoming presentation at the 2026 World Cup. The artist acknowledged that singing the National Anthem in front of millions of spectators represents an important challenge and confessed feeling excited and nervous at the same time.
“I feel] very good and very nervous. […] It’s not going to be easy being on camera and being seen on television by I don’t know how many millions of people.”
Even so, he assured that he is ready to assume the responsibility of opening one of the most important sporting events in the world.
