Fashion once again connects two Latin figures of international stature. At the beginning of 2025, Ángela Aguilar and Rachel Zegler surprised by wearing almost identical dresses just a few weeks apart, which sparked comparisons on social networks and in the media. The first sighting was during Premio Lo Nuestro 2025 on February 20 at the Kaseya Center in Miami. Angela Aguilar, 21, took the stage with her father, Pepe Aguilar, and brother, Leonardo, to perform regional Mexican music.

The singer dazzled in a white dress with a heart-shaped neckline and a striking red heart embroidered on the chest, with a shawl of the same tone. Weeks later, actress Rachel Zegler, 23, appeared at an event in Tokyo, Japan, wearing an almost identical design, but with a floor-length skirt version. Zegler performed the song “Waiting on a Wish”, the main theme of the live-action Snow White movie, in which she plays the famous Disney princess.

Both artists chose this dress not only for its aesthetics, but also for the cultural and symbolic value it represents.

Angela Aguilar incorporated a traditional Mexican touch with the red rebozo, while Rachel Zegler referenced the Evil Queen’s heart box, a key symbol in the 1937 animated version.

The design was created by renowned couturier Paul Vasileff, creator of the Paolo Sebastian couture house.

On social media, Vasileff explained that the piece was inspired by the “stabbed heart motif” of the Queen’s box, representing danger, redemption and female strength.

Stylist Sarah Slutsky, who accompanies Rachel on the Snow White promotional tour, also confirmed that this was an exclusive creation.

On Facebook, the video of the Disney event with Rachel received hundreds of positive comments such as “That dress is amazing!” or “It looks like it came from the original fairy tale.”

On the other hand, the Latino community celebrated Angela’s choice for connecting with her roots and representing Mexico with elegance on an international stage.

Beyond the question of who wore it better, what is certain is that both artists celebrated their Latin identity.

The two demonstrated how a single dress can unite different worlds: the regional music of Mexico and the classic Disney universe.
