Teams such as Germany, Uruguay, Colombia or Croatia, which have historically been protagonists, would not be seeded if the draw were made today.

This increases the chances of seeing groups of death, as heavyweight teams could meet in the first round with powerhouses such as Brazil or France.

Confirmed qualified teams so far are: United States, Mexico, Canada, Argentina, Japan, Iran and New Zealand.

Qualification of the European, African and South American teams is ongoing and is expected to be finalized in the coming months before the official draw in December 2025.
