Renowned theater actor Lucas García, 62, died suddenly on Friday night, April 18, while participating in a performance of the play “1580 – Rebelión de los 7 Jefes”, presented at the Sala Cervantes of the Centro Cultural ATE Casa España, in the city of Santa Fe.
The tragedy occurred after the closing of one of the acts. According to witnesses and fellow cast members, García collapsed backstage shortly after leaving the stage, which generated a moment of deep commotion among the cast and audience. Despite immediate efforts to revive him, the actor died on the spot, forcing the immediate cancellation of the performance.
