On May 18, 2025, the Hispanic community of Cumming, Georgia, was shaken by tragic news: Ricardo “Ricky” Hernandez, a 4-year-old boy, was killed in an ATV accident.
The incident occurred when Ricky was riding as a passenger on the ATV driven by a 16 year old teenager; now his family is devastated and asking for support.

According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Department report, neither occupant was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
While traveling on Valley Stream Drive, the driver braked and turned right, causing the ATV to overturn.
Ricky was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, while the driver was transported to a hospital with minor injuries.
Family reaction
Chris Rentería, Ricky’s uncle, expressed his bewilderment at what happened: “They went out for a walk, as we normally do. They were on their way back, they were less than a mile away. I don’t know how it happened.
Rentería also recalled that on that day, Ricky insisted on getting on the ATV.
Local authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
So far, no charges have been filed, but the investigation remains open to determine whether there was negligence or violations of traffic safety laws.
