Karol G has announced that her fifth studio album, entitled Tropicoqueta, will be released on June 20, 2025 on all digital platforms.
The Colombian artist shared the official cover of the album, in which she appears wearing an orange bikini while posing on three drums, evoking a Caribbean and festive aesthetic that reflects the essence of the album.
Inspiration and concept of the album
The idea for Tropicoqueta was born in August 2023, during the tour of their previous album Mañana Será Bonito.
Karol G explained that this new project represents an introspection and a return to her musical roots.
“This album sounds like a little piece of everyone, it started as a desire in August 2023…. When I finished it, I did it with a heart full of love that I received in every country I visited”, said the singer.
The title Tropicoqueta combines the words “tropico” and “coqueta”, symbolizing a celebration of Latin culture and femininity. Karol G has described the album as “soul, passion, memory, nostalgia, joy, party and identity”, highlighting her connection to the tropical and Caribbean rhythms that marked her childhood.
Production and music previews
The album is produced by Tainy, recognized for his work in the urban genre.
So far, two singles have been released that will be part of Tropicoqueta:l
“Latina Foreva”: Released on May 22, 2025, this track celebrates the diversity and strength of Latina women, incorporating a sample of Don Omar’s “Dile”.
“Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido”: Released on June 20, 2024, this merengue-genre song reflects the influence of tropical rhythms on the album.
Although the full track list and collaborations have not yet been revealed, the album is expected to include 20 songs that pay tribute to Latin music and the artist’s personal experiences.
A new era: the “orange era
With Tropicoqueta, Karol G begins what she calls her “orange era”, characterized by a vibrant and tropical aesthetic that symbolizes joy, energy and freedom.
This new stage represents an evolution in his career, fusing his musical roots with a contemporary and empowered vision of Latin culture.
