This year will be the fourth edition of the showdown between Liga MX and MLS teams.

The history is balanced: MLS won in 2021 and 2022, Liga MX dominated in 2024 with a resounding 4-1 win.

That victory was in Columbus, Ohio; this 2025 the stage will be in Texas.

MLS confirmed its 30-star squad, including Messi, Hirving Lozano, Evander and Carles Gil, announced on July 15 by head coach Nico Estevez.

For its part, Liga MX integrated 28 players, including Alexis Vega, James Rodríguez, Sergio Ramos, Sergio Canales and Luis Ángel Malagón.

The selection includes Ballon d’Or winners, strategically chosen by Jardine.

This event is relevant to the U.S. Hispanic public, as it represents:

1. Media visibility of prominent Latino players such as Lozano, Vega and Malagón.

2. Comparison of leagues and squads, highlighting how MLS has integrated global figures to raise its competitive level, something that Liga MX is gradually doing.

3. Promotional opportunities, especially on the eve of the 2026 World Cup, where the U.S., Mexico and Canada will jointly host the event.
