The U.S. State Department warned Thursday that it could revoke visas for foreigners who “glorify” the murder of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, a close ally of President Donald Trump.
“In the face of yesterday’s horrific murder of a prominent political figure, I want to emphasize that foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome in our country,” Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau wrote on social networking site X.
Landau calls for denunciation of praise for murder
Landau, who calls himself “the “visa remover”, expressed his indignation after observing on social networks “some people praising, justifying or minimizing the event”.
Therefore, he instructed consular officials to “take the appropriate measures”.
He also urged his followers on X to inform him of any such comments made by foreign nationals.

Trump Ally Assassinated in Utah
Kirk, 31, was shot in the neck Wednesday while participating in an event at Utah Valley University.

The White House also strongly condemned the attack, calling it a “cowardly act aimed at intimidating political dissent.”
Federal officials said the FBI is working with local authorities in the investigation, and they do not rule out the possibility of a hate crime.
Republicans demand security
Various Republican leaders have called for increased security at public events.
They warned that they will not tolerate attempts to silence conservative voices through violence.
Meanwhile, thousands of Kirk’s supporters have expressed their grief on social media, highlighting his influence in the conservative youth movement and his advocacy of free market policies and traditional values.
