Mexico’s Banda El Recodo de Cruz Lizárraga presented this Thursday ‘Sólo tú’, the first single from their new album, a band-style version of the song popularized in 1976 by Spanish singer-songwriter Camilo Sesto, as well as announcing a tour of Europe.
The song, “a melody inspired by Camilo Blanes, better known as Camilo Sesto”, maintains “the rhythm of the original ballad”, but adapted to their characteristic Sinaloa band sound, explained the group, one of the icons of regional Mexican music.

Camilo Sesto’s song was one of the most representative ballads of the Spanish romantic music of the time, and consolidated the Spanish artist as a reference of melodic pop for his passionate interpretation and his lyrical style about absolute love and sentimental surrender.

El Recodo indicated that the single addresses “unbridled love for which one leaves everything and everyone”, a recurring theme in the group’s romantic repertoire.
‘Sólo tú’ succeeds the track ‘No me aprovechaste’, included in the album ‘En vivo desde Japón’, released in May.
In parallel to the premiere, the group announced a European tour that will begin on November 19 in Milan (Italy) and will continue to Amsterdam (Netherlands), Madrid and Barcelona (Spain), Berlin (Germany) and Paris (France).

The launch is part of the 87th anniversary of the band, founded by Cruz Lizárraga in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, who emphasized his commitment to “take band music to every corner of the world,” reported Agencia EFE.
