Mexican soprano and actress Regina Orozco will offer her followers an authentic “journey through time” with her next show ‘Regina Eterna’, an “intimate” cabaret show with piano rhythm in which she will go through her professional and personal career through a “journey of improvisation”.

“It is a story with passages of my life in a delirious and cabaret way. The music I bring has to do with stories or songs that produce this feeling of what I have felt in this journey,” said the Mexican artist on Tuesday at a press conference.

His new cabaret show will be held on March 6 at the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City, the city where Orozco was born 61 years ago.

As he explained, his performance will be a sort of “time machine” to recreate a “very intimate and elegant” cabaret of his career in which he will also invoke popular culture figures such as the American singer Michael Jackson or the Virgin of Guadalupe, Mexico’s religious icon.

Regina Orozco, who has participated in 35 operas, pointed out that the idea for this show was born from the “age crisis” that all people suffer at a certain moment in life.

“Because of a crisis I started to sabotage myself, I started to feel old and tired and I started to see what I had to do in my life,” she said.

However, she added, she realized that age is just “time” and became “more independent” thanks to a journey of “therapies and women’s circles.”

“It is really a trip to my heart, from my heart to the world (…) I give people a list of 35 songs and I will improvise whatever they ask me. I’m going to put on their tables moments that I have lived, as in the political campaign or as when I did opera or cinema”, he explained.

When asked about the moment of her career, Regina Orozco confessed she was “incapable” of choosing just one, highlighting the birth of her daughter or when she fell in love as some of the most important ones.

He also defended the cabaret genre, which in his opinion is a “manifestation of the world” that works as a “mirror” of what is happening, as a “social critique” in a “delirious and impossible to believe” way.

The singer performed some of the songs that will be played at the Auditorio Nacional in her cabaret show ‘Regina Eterna’, which she hopes will be a reflection of the “crucial moments” of different stages of her life, reported Agencia EFE.
