Mexican singer Regina Murguía, member of the iconic pop group JNS, shared an emotional update on her health after undergoing surgery to remove a colon polyp that turned out to be cancerous.
The intervention was successful, and Regina expressed her gratitude publicly for the affection received. Through a series of photographs she dedicated emotional words to her followers.
Surgery and diagnosis of Regina Murguía
Murguía had revealed weeks ago, during a press conference, that she would undergo surgery in July due to a “polyp, a small tumor in the colon” detected in medical studies.
Although not always malignant, polyps can progress to cancer if not treated promptly.
The operation was scheduled to take advantage of a break in his summer schedule and was successfully performed. Murguía expected to return to the stage in August, God willing.
The medical treatment was successful and came with hope.
From her bed, Regina shared a post on Instagram with a photograph where she is seen connected to an oxygen tube, but making a calm gesture with her hand.
He accompanied his image with a message full of emotion and gratitude:
“Thank you so much to all of you who have been looking out for me and have shown me such love that it has brought tears to my eyes. I love you all, see you soon.”
This message reflected his hope of reintegration soon and his emotional strength to face this episode.
What type of cancer was it?
Subsequently, the media confirmed that the polyps removed were cancerous, which implied a diagnosis of colon cancer.
JNS colleagues Karla Diaz and Angie Taddei shared their initial scare and celebrated the successful operation, stressing how important it is to catch symptoms early.
Then, a few days ago, Regina Murguía shared photos from her home where she thanked everyone: “As you know, I recently underwent an important intervention. It has not been an easy process, but it has been profoundly transformative. Today I feel reborn, embracing life again with more strength and awareness”.
