A birthday party that was supposed to be a cause for celebration ended in tragedy early Sunday morning in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. An armed attack occurred at the event hall “El Roble”, located in the Ciudad Jardin neighborhood, resulting in the death of the vocalist of a musical group hired to liven up the evening.
According to local media reports, the alleged assailant was the partygoer himself, who, for no apparent reason, began firing shots at the place. Witnesses reported that he initially fired the gun into the air, causing panic among the attendees, and then fired directly at the members of the musical group.

The attack had fatal consequences. The lead singer of the group, identified as Arturo “N”, died at the scene due to the severity of his injuries. Another member of the group, Raúl “N”, 24, who was the second vocalist, was injured and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition.
Following the incident, elements of the municipal police and emergency services rushed to the site. The area was cordoned off by the authorities, who located percussion casings from a handgun as part of the evidence. Personnel from the Baja California State Attorney General’s Office began the corresponding investigations to clarify the facts.
So far, the authorities have not reported the arrest of the alleged perpetrator, but confirmed that they are already conducting the necessary investigations to find him.
So far, the affected group, known as Grupo “Reacción”, has not issued an official statement regarding the incident or the loss of its vocalist. The band, originally from Rosarito, Baja California, consisted of five members: two vocalists, a guitarist, an accordionist and a drummer.
Since its formation in 2015, the group had been actively working on disseminating their music through social networks and digital platforms such as YouTube, where they shared both original material and versions of popular songs. Their goal, as expressed in their profiles, was to position themselves in the music scene in both Mexico and the United States.
In addition to public presentations, Grupo “Reacción” was frequently hired for private events, such as parties and celebrations, which was an important part of their professional activity.
A worrisome context in the region
This incident adds to a series of violent episodes that have affected musicians in Baja California in recent years. One of the most memorable cases occurred in October 2025, when Eleuterio “Tello” Higuera Jr., member of the group Los Incomparables de Tijuana, was murdered.
The repetition of this type of incidents has generated concern among the artistic community and society in general, evidencing the risks faced by some musicians when performing their work, especially in private events.
Meanwhile, family, friends and fans of the deceased vocalist mourn his loss, hoping that the authorities will be able to clarify the case and justice will be done.
