U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi’s appearance Wednesday before the House Judiciary Committee turned into an acrimonious session marked by criticism from Democrats and Republicans over her role in the Epstein investigation and aggressive retorts from Bondi.
Bondi, who has been widely questioned for allegedly stonewalling the release of the documents, faced, for example, questions from Democrat Ted Lieu, who showed her a video of the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

🚨HISTORIC. Rep. Jayapal asks Epstein survivors to raise their hand if they still haven’t been invited to meet with Pam Bondi or the DOJ.
Every single one raises their hand.
Sometimes gestures are more powerful than words. Damn this Administration.

Ted Lieu asked her if there were underage girls at any parties they attended together.
“This is ridiculous,” responded Bondi who added “there is no evidence that Donald Trump has committed any crime.”
In a tense verbal exchange, Lieu settled the debate by accusing the attorney general “of lying under oath.”
If tension with Democrats was a given, this Wednesday some Republicans added to the unease over the attorney general’s handling of the Epstein papers.
Republican Congressman Thomas Massie, co-author of the law forcing the Justice Department to release the Epstein files and one of the most belligerent in pushing for full disclosure of the case, lambasted Bondi for the Justice Department’s inadvertent disclosure of the victims’ identities and the embellishment of the identities of alleged accomplices.
“Who is responsible,” Massie asked, “who in your organization committed this massive failure?”
Pam Bondi responded by calling Thomas Massie a “failed politician.”
A dozen of Epstein’s victims came to the Capitol on Wednesday to witness Pam Bondi’s testimony and were among the most emotional moments.
Democrat Pramila Jayapal asked the attorney general to address the victims directly to apologize, which Bondi refused.
The scene ended in a shouting match, with the attorney general accusing the legislator of staging a “theater”.
Pramila Jayapal asked the Epstein victims present at the hearing to raise their hands if they had not yet been able to meet with the Trump Justice Department and they all did.
