Austin Cindric conquered this Sunday a spectacular victory at the Talladega Superspeedway, winning in a photo finish by just 0.022 seconds over Ryan Preece. However, the excitement did not end at the finish line: after the subsequent inspection, both Preece and Joey Logano were disqualified, altering the final result of the race valid for the NASCAR Cup Series 2025.

“From the pit stops to my spotter’s work, it was a complete effort,” said Austin Cindric, thrilled after scoring a win he had been seeking for years at Talladega.

In addition, Cindric highlighted the importance of the Ford Performance engine and thanked his sponsors, such as Menard’s, for their continued support.

Disqualifications

The joy of Ryan Preece, who had achieved the best result of his career, faded hours later when his car failed technical inspection.

Irregularities were detected in the rear wing, for which he was disqualified.

The same fate befell Joey Logano, who had initially finished fifth.

With the disqualifications, Kyle Larson inherited second place, followed by William Byron in third, Noah Gragson in fourth and Chase Elliott in fifth.

Daniel Suárez, NASCAR’s Latino representative, had a solid performance, finishing ninth.

Despite the excitement, the race was unusually clean for a superspeedway like Talladega.

Only five cars did not finish the race and there were only two yellow flags for incidents.

Among those affected were big names like Brad Keselowski, Ryan Blaney and Kyle Busch, all of whom were involved in early crashes.

With this victory, Austin Cindric becomes the sixth different winner so far in the 2025 season, climbing important positions in the overall standings.
