Bad Bunny’s Spotify plays in the U.S. increased by 470% and global plays grew by 210% after his Super Bowl halftime show.
As soon as he took the stage, fans reacted immediately, turning to Spotify in real time to interact with his music during and right after the halftime performance.
Bad Bunny’s surprise guests also saw increases, with Ricky Martin’s plays rising 145% in the U.S. after the performance, according to Spotify data.

The songs sung during the Super Bowl are also obtaining significant increases in plays in the U.S., with ‘Yo Perreo Sola’ (2,170 %), ‘El Apagón’ (1,320 %), ‘Party’ (1,130 %) and ‘Lo que le pasó a Hawaii’ (1,040 %) standing out.
The Puerto Rican singer starred in a great show full of references to Puerto Rican and Latin culture, and claimed that America is the whole continent, not just the U.S., with a display of all the flags of the region.
Criticism from the American right, which had already rejected his choice for the Super Bowl, was not long in coming. President Donald Trump himself called the event an “affront to the greatness of America.”

Bad Bunny currently holds the top six spots on Spotify’s daily list of most played songs in the U.S. and, in January alone, surpassed 1.3 billion plays globally as fans checked out his music ahead of the Super Bowl.
He is the only singer to be named Spotify’s Global Artist of the Year four times, reported Agencia EFE.
