The baseball world and the society of the Dominican Republic are in mourning after the death of former Major League Baseball player Octavio Dotel, victim of the collapse of the roof of the Jet Set discotheque, located in Santo Domingo, was confirmed. Rescued alive

Initially, local media reports and journalist Dionisio Soldevila indicated that Octavio Dotel was found alive in the rubble.
He was taken to the Central Hospital of the Armed Forces, but arrived without vital signs, medical sources confirmed.

However, hours later, Soldevila updated the information, stating that Octavio Dotel died during the transfer, due to the seriousness of his injuries.
