The urban music industry was rocked once again with the release of the long-awaited BZRP Music Session #0/66, a collaboration between Argentine producer Bizarrap and reggaeton icon Daddy Yankee. The release, which was unveiled simultaneously on digital platforms and social networks, became in a matter of hours one of the most played tracks globally, marking a historic comeback for the Gasolina singer.
The union between the two artists has a special weight, since Daddy Yankee had announced his retirement from the stage in 2022, after a career of more than three decades that defined the course of reggaeton in the world. Since then, the Puerto Rican had focused on projects linked to Christian music, publicly declaring his conversion and dedicating his last years to sharing his faith through presentations and religious messages.
In this context, his return with Bizarrap took fans and the specialized press by surprise. The Argentine producer himself celebrated the collaboration in a message published on his X account (formerly Twitter), something unusual for him, as he rarely writes to accompany his releases.
“I never write in this publication, but this is a dream. This for me, the greatest. Thanks for everything to everyone,” expressed Bizarrap, along with a fragment of the video clip.

Session #0/66 breaks with the usual numbering of the Bizarrap series -which traditionally follows a consecutive order- and symbolizes the beginning of a new creative stage. Musically, the track combines mambo, classic reggaeton and electronic sounds, achieving a fusion that pays tribute to the origins of the urban genre, but with a modern and clean production, faithful to the style of the Argentine producer.
The track opens with a declaration of identity and artistic renewal: “New season has begun, give it a play. Sound from below, Bizarrap sounds the bass. Code seven, eight, seven, aka El Calentón. Put the drums on, reggaeton is here.”
Throughout the song, Daddy Yankee mixes biblical references, personal reflections and nods to his musical past, showing an unusual lyrical maturity in the genre. In one of the most outstanding verses, he states: “If you ask me, I don’t owe anybody. When I leave here, I take nothing with me. I only leave with a true love. Feet on the ground, always looking to the sky.”
This verse encapsulates his spiritual vision and personal evolution, reflecting the stage of faith he finds himself in after years of success and media exposure.
Daddy Yankee : Personal and legal context of the artist
The release comes in the midst of a complex moment in Daddy Yankee’s personal and professional life. In recent months he has been involved in a legal dispute with his ex-wife and former manager, Mireddys González, with whom he shared the management of El Cartel Records for most of his career.
The conflict centers on the commercial use of the trademarks “Daddy Yankee” and “DY”, registered during their marriage. The artist even filed a federal lawsuit in Puerto Rico to prevent Gonzalez from limiting access to or use of those names, which explains why his most recent recording material has been released only under the acronym “DY”.
In this context, many of the lines of the song -such as “to no one I owe” or “my eternal flow, no longer legendary”- are interpreted as a symbolic declaration of independence and artistic and spiritual rebirth.
Less than an hour after its release, the BZRP Music Session #0/66 video had already surpassed 100,000 views on YouTube and was quickly trending worldwide. Sports and entertainment personalities celebrated the collaboration.

Argentine rider Franco Colapinto, a friend of Bizarrap, wrote on Instagram, “This is outrageous. Session 0 had to be the best ever.”
For his part, host Nicolás Occhiato, from Nadie Dice Nada (Luzu TV), reacted with a terse but eloquent message accompanied by fire emojis: “Ufff.”
Beyond the media phenomenon, Session #0/66 consolidates itself as a symbolic piece in Daddy Yankee’s career. It represents not only his return to the studio after his retirement, but also his reaffirmation as a figure that transcends genres, generations and labels.
For Bizarrap, the collaboration marks a professional milestone, uniting its talent with that of one of the legends who laid the foundations of reggaeton.
In the words of the fans themselves, this session not only “revives the essence of classic reggaeton”, but also makes it clear that, even after retiring, Daddy Yankee is still the boss of the movement.
