Britney Spears once again generated conversation on social networks after sharing an emotional message on her Instagram account, where she hinted at the possibility of one day returning to the stage, although under very specific conditions.
The American singer, a pop icon since the late 1990s, posted a retro image of one of her most memorable performances: her performance at the 2002 American Music Awards, when she sang “I’m Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman”.
In the photograph she appears accompanied by a piano, an instrument that awakened a special memory for the artist. “I’m sending this piano to my son this year,” Britney wrote next to the image, demonstrating the strong bond she maintains with her family and, especially, with one of her sons.

In the same message, Spears reflected on the dance videos she often posts on Instagram, which frequently generate divided reactions among her followers. “Funnily enough, I dance on Instagram to heal things in my body that people have no idea about,” she explained. She acknowledged that at times it can be embarrassing to expose herself in such a way, but she assured that she went through very difficult times in order to save her life and regain her identity. The connection to the movement, in her words, has become a form of emotional and physical survival.
This context led her to refer directly to rumors about an eventual return to music or to the stage. The singer was blunt in stating that she does not plan to perform again in the United States “for extremely sensitive reasons”, a statement that deflated the expectations of many fans who were hoping to see her again in large venues in the country where she consolidated her career.
However, her message did not completely close the door on live performances. Spears left open the possibility of performing outside the U.S., which sparked new interest among her international fans.
International plans and maternal pride
“I hope to be sitting on a stool, with a red rose in my hair, pulled back in a bun, performing with my son… in the UK and Australia very soon,” she wrote enthusiastically. She also expressed her admiration for the youngster’s talent, whom she described as “a big star.”
Britney is the mother of two sons, Sean (20) and Jayden (19), from her marriage to Kevin Federline. Although she did not specify which of them she was referring to in her publication, everything points to the fact that it could be Jayden, since on previous occasions she shared videos of the young man playing the piano.
In a 2024 publication, the artist had already expressed her amazement for her son’s talent, assuring that she felt deeply proud and surprised. Moreover, a source quoted by Us Weekly revealed that Britney spent Christmas 2025 together with him in California, strengthening their relationship.
