Spiritual health has become an essential topic for thousands of Hispanic women in the United States who seek balance in the midst of work, family and emotional pressures. In its new episode named Caring for Our Spiritual Health, A tu Salud Mujer Podcast -a joint production of Nueva Network and QuéOnnda- addresses this topic from a close, practical and deeply human perspective. HERE you can listen to the podcast.

The episode, entitled “Cuidemos nuestra salud espiritual” (Let’s Take Care of Our Spiritual Health), is hosted by one of the most respected voices in wellness and health content for Hispanic women: the journalist and communicator with a long history of service to the Latino community, who has dedicated her career to providing useful, reliable and accessible information on holistic health, personal growth and emotional well-being. Her work has contributed to open spaces where women can talk without taboos about stress, motherhood, relationships, self-care and daily challenges.

To delve deeper into this topic, the program invited Ratna Hema Mohan, clinical psychologist and psychotherapist, who explained that spirituality is not a set of external rules or imposed rituals, but “the ethical part of the person”, that which each woman recognizes as the right and best thing for herself.

According to the specialist, spiritual health brings inner calm, clarity of purpose and emotional strength that directly influences overall well-being.

Ratna Hema pointed out that, for many women, spirituality has become an intimate space of reunion, away from the roles that society requires them to fulfill: to be productive, strong, available and in charge of everyone.

“Spirituality is a space of encounter with oneself, an inner place where we breathe again, where we listen and where we can feel complete,” she said.

The psychologist emphasized that spirituality does not imply disconnecting from the world, but rather inhabiting it with greater coherence, peace and authenticity.

Connecting with ourselves, she added, can generate fear, anguish or guilt, but feeling that way is totally valid.

“When you connect with distress you feel that it’s a bad thing. And that’s the belief we have: if we are distressed, it’s wrong. It’s not. What we have to do is connect with that distress. It’s not easy, but we can do it.

Signs to identify a deficiency in spiritual health

Ratna Hema explained that there are clear manifestations that indicate that a woman may be neglecting her spiritual health: feeling empty, functioning on automatic, losing the capacity for wonder or ceasing to enjoy small everyday things.

He also noted that questions such as “what am I doing here?” can be important warning signs.

These sensations, far from being a cause for embarrassment, can be an invitation to reconnect with deep emotions, unmet needs and personal aspects that have been left behind by the demands of everyday life.

The specialist recalled that spiritual health impacts all aspects of life: relationships, work, decisions, physical and emotional well-being.

That’s why taking care of it is a fundamental part of overall health. For Hispanic women in the U.S., who often face additional economic, work and family pressures, this issue becomes even more relevant.

In this episode, A tu Salud Mujer Podcast offers tools, reflections and an intimate conversation designed especially for women who seek to reconnect with their essence and find moments of peace in the midst of intense routines.
