Universal Pictures is preparing a biopic about the formative years of U.S. rock band Bon Jovi, Deadline reported Tuesday.

The project, still without a name or release date in sight, will feature the band’s frontman Jon Bon Jovi narrating the meteoric rise of the quartet, which emerged from the streets of New Jersey and went on to sell more than 130 million albums.

This is the first film of the band of hits like ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’, although their career has been documented through various productions such as ‘Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story’, the documentary that commemorated their 40th anniversary.

The band’s origins date back to 1984 in Sayreville, New Jersey, when Jon Bon Jovi made ‘Runaway’ a radio hit.

Composed of childhood friend David Bryan on keyboards, experienced drummer Tico Torres, bassist Alec John Such and guitarist Richie Sambora, the band forged the chemistry between hard rock and pop melodies that catapulted them to worldwide stardom with the album ‘Slippery When Wet’ in 1986, reported Agencia EFE.
