The popular social media phenomenon known as “2016 vs. 2026” continues to generate conversation among users and celebrities. The trend invites to compare images from the past with the present to show physical, style and life changes. On this occasion, the challenge directly splashed a renowned Mexican singer: Christian Nodal. Lisa Fernanda Macías, publicly identified as the singer’s first great love, was responsible for fueling the controversy and shared unpublished photographs of the artist’s adolescence.
The images, which date from approximately a decade ago, show a completely different Nodal than the one known today by millions of fans. In the photographs he appears without tattoos, with glasses, wearing a school uniform and with a much more youthful image, corresponding to his high school years.

She assured that it caused her disappointment to remember how the relationship ended, pointing out that he started another relationship the day after the breakup. According to her, the fact that a similar situation repeated itself years later made her feel that, although Nodal has changed physically, certain patterns remain.
The publication provoked an avalanche of comments. Some users were grateful to be able to see a more innocent and unknown side of the artist, highlighting the transformation he has undergone throughout his career. However, another sector of the public questioned Macias’ intentions, accusing her of seeking media attention.
Among the most repeated messages were phrases such as: “If you no longer feel anything for him, why upload photos of an ex?”, “He only wants to appear”, “It is not right to relive the past when he is already married” and “He is looking for fame”. The pressure was such that, shortly after, Lisa Fernanda’s Instagram account appeared as “unavailable”, which sparked speculation about a possible temporary closure or restriction of her profile.

So far, neither Christian Nodal nor his wife, Ángela Aguilar, have publicly commented on the dissemination of the images or on the statements made by the singer’s ex-girlfriend. Everything indicates that the singer remains focused on his artistic career and his personal life, avoiding fueling the controversy.
