Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith’s daughter, Stella del Carmen, 28, and her fiancé, Alex Gruszynski, will marry in front of 200 guests on October 18 in the small town of Sardón de Duero, in the Spanish province of Valladolid.

A 12th century Romanesque abbey and four nights and five days of celebration are some of the details of the wedding that this village of 607 inhabitants will host and that will be filled with celebrities and movie stars.

In addition to the bride’s parents, actress Dakota Johnson (stepsister of the bride), her father, actor Don Johnson, and Tippi Hedren, grandmother of Stella del Carmen and muse of director Alfred Hitchcock, who starred in ‘The Birds’ and ‘Marnie, the Robber’, are expected to attend.

“It’s putting us on the map in the United States,” said the mayor of the municipality, José Antonio Matesanz, who is accustomed to a large number of events due to the proximity of the five-star Abadía Retuerta LeDomaine hotel, where Gruszynski and Banderas Griffith will tie the knot.

It is a hotel establishment with a heliport that is also a winery and has its own Protected Designation of Origin since 2022.

Workers will have restrictions on the use of their cell phones, although hotel management declined to comment on any details about the event.

Matesanz explained that the only request that Abadía Retuerta has made to the Sardón City Council is for more recycling containers for waste management, which will mean “expanding the collection and cleaning service”.

“It’s a nice place to do whatever they want: The estate is a marvel, it has quite a few hectares and is very nice, with the convent and the winery, and I imagine the guests who will have a good time,” he said.

The subdelegate of the Government in Valladolid, Jacinto Canales, explained to EFE that the Civil Guard has recommended to the organizers to reinforce the private security of the event, “always making it clear that it is a private event and what happens inside is the responsibility of the property”.

Public safety will be taken care of like any other event larger than usual in a municipality like Sardón de Duero, so there will be additional support such as a traffic patrol to avoid problems in access and a “reserve force”, which will act reactively if there are any problems, reported Agencia EFE.
