Last Tuesday, July 8, 2025, Immigration and Customs Enforcement(ICE) agents detained Dennis Guillen-Soliz, a 30-year-old Honduran gardener, inside the Advanced Surgery Center in Ontario, California. The incident was captured on video and shows medical personnel confronting the agents, who did not present a warrant to enter the private facility.

According to witnesses, Dennis Guillen-Soliz entered the clinic seeking shelter after being approached by masked agents while working in the green area of the building.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) claimed that this was a “targeted operation” against two individuals with irregular immigration status.

However, Javier Hernandez, executive director of the Inland Coalition for Immigrant Justice (IC4IJ), questioned that assertion.

He indicated that the agents questioned other workers until their legal status was confirmed.

“The community is outraged. The clinic staff acted bravely in demanding an order, as the law mandates,” said Hernandez.

Dennis Guillen-Soliz had recently immigrated to the U.S. with the objective of working and sending money to Honduras.

This was to pay for his mother’s dialysis and diabetes treatment.

The family confirmed that two of Dennis’ siblings were killed in a traffic accident, which increased their financial responsibility.

Currently, it is presumed that he was transferred to the Adelanto detention center, although the family is still trying to confirm his exact whereabouts.

Migrant community mobilizes in his defense
The family of Dennis Guillen-Soliz has created a GoFundMe campaign to cover the $10,000 in legal costs needed for his defense.

So far, they have managed to collect about 28% of the total.

Organizations such as IC4IJ and community leaders urge the government to respect legal protocols in immigration operations.

Also to avoid actions in places considered protected such as schools, churches and health centers.
