This Sunday, September 14, they won the championship of the 2025 season by defeating the Charros de Jalisco 7-3, crowning a final series in which they swept 4-0 and consolidating their position as the league’s top winners with 18 titles, one more than the historic Naranjeros de Hermosillo.

Dominican José Marmolejos was the star of the decisive day at the Pan American Stadium in Zapopan.
In the first inning, after a single by Julián Ornelas sent Carlos Sepúlveda to the plate, Marmolejos hit a fly ball that allowed Panama’s Allen Córdoba to make it 2-0.
In the second inning, the offensive power of the Diablos again made the difference.
A hit by American Rio Ruiz that ended up being unstoppable allowed Venezuelan José Pirela to reach the plate.
Cordoba then responded with a double that drove in two more runs, extending the lead to 5-0.
The crowning moment came in the fifth episode, when Marmolejos hit a two-run home run that brought the legendary Robinson Canó to the plate, making the score 7-0 and practically sealing the series.
Late response from the Charros

The Charros de Jalisco reacted in the eighth inning, when Willie Calhoun hit a single to drive in Mallex Smith.
Smith then retaliated with a two-run homer to make the final score 7-3.
However, the reaction came too late and was not enough to avoid defeat at home.
The win went to left-handed pitcher Nick Vespi, who controlled the Jalisco offense, while the loss went to starter Enrique Vera.
In addition to Marmolejos, Dwight Smith Jr. also stood out with a home run in the game.
With this championship, the Diablos Rojos del México not only consolidate their position as the most successful franchise in the Mexican Baseball League, but also widen the gap with the Naranjeros de Hermosillo, who have 17 titles.
The victory reaffirms the capital city team’s standing in Mexican professional baseball and strengthens its status as one of the most beloved organizations by the fans.
