Brazil’s Wagner Moura (‘The Secret Agent’), Mexico’s Diego Luna (‘Andor’) and Puerto Rico’s Benicio del Toro (‘One Battle After Another’) will compete in different acting categories for a Golden Globe at the next edition of these awards to be held on January 11 in Los Angeles.
Moura was nominated for best actor in a drama film for his participation in ‘The Secret Agent’; category in which he will compete with Dwayne Johnson (‘The Smashing Machine’); Michael B. Jordan (‘Sinners’) and Jeremy Allen White, who plays Bruce Springsteen in the ‘biopic’ of the American musician.
While Luna will compete for the award for Best Actor in a Drama in a Television Series with Sterling K. Brown (‘Paradise’), Gary Oldman (‘Slow Horses’), Mark Ruffalo (‘Task’), Adam Scott (‘Severance’) and Noah Wyle (‘The Pitt’), the organization announced Monday.

Among the Latino actors nominated this year is also Benicio del Toro, who will compete for a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture for ‘One Battle After Another’, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson.
Del Toro will compete with fellow actor Sean Penn, as well as Spanish-born Jacob Elordi, nominated for ‘Frankenstein’; Paul Mescal, for ‘Hamnet’; Adam Sandler, for ‘Jay Kelly’; and Stellan Skarsgård, for ‘Sentimental Value’.
Golden Globe Nominations
Elordi repeats as the lead in a miniseries for his work in ‘The Narrow Road to the Deep North’, a category in which he will face Paul Giamatti (‘Black Mirror’), Stephen Graham (‘Adolescence’), Charlie Hunnam (‘Monster: The Ed Gein Story’), Jude Law (‘Black Rabbit’) and Matthew Rhys (‘The Beast in Me’).
As for the female categories, the film nominees for Best Actress in a Drama are Jessie Buckley (‘Hamnet’), Jennifer Lawrence (‘Die My Love’), Renate Reinsve (‘Sentimental Value’), Julia Roberts (‘After the Hunt’), Tessa Thompson (‘Hedda’) and Eva Victor (‘Sorry, Baby’).
In the comedy or musical category, the nominees are Rose Byrne (‘If I had Legs I’d Kick You’); Cynthia Erivo (‘Wicked: For Good’); Kate Hudson (‘Song Sung Blue’); Chase Infiniti (‘One Battle After Another’); Amanda Seyfried (‘The Testament of Ann Lee’).

For best actress in a drama in a television series the nominees are Kathy Bates (‘Matlock’), Britt Lower (‘Severance’), Helen Mirren (‘Mobland’), Bella Ramsey (‘The Last Of Us’), Keri Russell (‘The Diplomat’) and Rhea Seehorn (‘Pluribus’).
From comedy or musical, Kristen Bell, for ‘Nobody Wants This’; Ayo Edebiri, for ‘The Bear’; Selena Gomez, for ‘Only Murders in the Building’; Natasha Lyonne, for ‘Poker Face’; Jenna Ortega, for ‘Wednesday’ (Netflix) and Jean Smart, for ‘Hacks’.
In the miniseries category, best actress nominations went to Claire Danes, for ‘The Beast in Me’; Rashida Jones, for ‘Black Mirror’; Amanda Seyfried, for ‘Long Bright River’; Sarah Snook, for ‘All Her Fault’; Michelle Williams, for ‘Dying for Sex’; and Robin Wright, for ‘The Girlfriend’, reported Agencia EFE.
