Tinker Bell, the iconic fairy from ‘Peter Pan,’ will star in ‘Tink,’ a live-action series on Disney+ from writers/producers Liz Heldens and Bridget Carpenter.
According to the specialized media Deadline, the studio has been planning for some time to carry out an updated version of the classic character originally created by Scottish novelist and playwright JM Barrie.
Tinker Bell, first introduced in ‘Peter Pan’ (1953), has become an emblem of Disney and appears in the opening of many of its films.
Disney had planned a film about this character starring Reese Witherspoon, but the project was changed following the resignation of Gary Marsh as president and chief creative officer of Disney Branded Television.
And in 2023, Yara Shahidi played Tinker Bell in the live-action film ‘Peter Pan & Wendy’, which was made for Disney+.
Marsh, now an independent producer backed by Disney, serves as executive producer of the series, which is being developed under the production of 20th Television, reported Agencia EFE.
