The third season of ‘Euphoria’ moves forward five years in time to the wedding of Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) and Nate (Jacob Elordi) while Rue (Zendaya) lives on the U.S.-Mexico border paying off her debt to a drug trafficker, according to the first teaser trailer for the highly anticipated series, which returns to HBO on April 12.
More than four years later, ‘Euphoria’ returns to the small screen with most of the original cast for this third season, including Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Eric Dane, Jacob Elordi, Alexa Demie and Maude Apatow.
Also, ‘Sing Sing’ Oscar nominee Colman Domingo will return as a guest star, as well as Spanish singer Rosalia, who does not appear in the trailer.

The trailer opens with Rue, the narrator of the adventure of a group of teenagers experiencing the ups and downs of love and friendship in a context of social networks, sex, drugs and violence, following her life after high school: “I don’t know if life was exactly as I wanted it to be, but somehow, for the first time, I was starting to have faith,” she says in voiceover.
The expectation for Euphoria
Elsewhere, Cassie and Nate are building a house in the suburbs after getting married and facing relationship problems: “I work all day and my future wife is sprawled out on the Internet,” says Elordi’s character, to which she replies, “I was just creating content.
“And have you heard from Jules?” asks Lexi Howard (Maude Apatow) to Rue as Hunter Schafer appears on screen and a small encounter is shown between the two characters, who were a couple during their teenage years.
Since the release of the second installment, the continuation of the series had been postponed to the point that there was even speculation about its possible definitive cancellation.

This delay has been attributed to multiple factors, including the 2023 Hollywood writers’ and actors’ strike, as well as the cast’s massive post-release popularity, which has opened doors for them to participate in more projects and consequently have tighter schedules.
To date, the series for which Zendaya is also executive producer has received 25 Emmy nominations, with nine wins, reported Agencia EFE.
