What’s next for Miss Mexico

For those who live in the United States and have Mexican roots, the triumph of Fatima has several practical and symbolic meanings:

State representation: The fact that Tabasco has a national crown for the first time reinforces pride in Mexican regional identities inside and outside the country. For Mexican communities in the U.S., many come from states with which they identify; this provides a benchmark of success.

Role models: Fatima combines beauty, fashion studies, international training, and participation in pageants from a young age. This can inspire young people seeking to combine education, culture, entrepreneurship, modeling, or artistic careers.

Media and cultural visibility: The pageant is now viewed with greater attention not only as a beauty pageant, but as a platform for messages, values, social causes, female empowerment and sisterhood-themes that resonate in U.S. Latino communities.

Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand: Keeping an eye on how Fatima will represent Mexico can generate interest among Hispanics who follow beauty pageants, Mexican culture and ties to Mexico. In addition, social networks and international broadcasts will allow those in the U.S. to follow her.

After winning, Fatima commented that only four of her fellow contestants congratulated her, a statement that opened debate about sorority among beauty contestants.

There was also criticism of a makeup artist, Luis Torres, for previous statements considered as minimizing Tabasco’s victory. He defended that he was only giving his opinion on which candidate he considered the favorite and did not question the legitimacy, although his messages were interpreted as controversial.

Fatima Bosch has a period of preparation ahead of her for Miss Universe 2025: training on the catwalk, physical preparation, interviews, choosing a typical dress, gala dress, and possibly language work, communication and social causes, since these aspects weigh heavily in the international contest.
