U.S. band Foo Fighters released ‘Asking for a Friend’, a new single on Thursday, the announcement of which comes with a 12-date tour of Canada and the U.S. in 2026.
‘Asking for a Friend’, now available on all platforms, “is a song for those who have waited patiently in the cold, relying on hope and faith for their horizon to appear. Looking for ‘proof’ while holding on to a wish until the sun shines again. One of many songs to come,” the band’s frontman Dave Grohl explained in a written statement.
The rock band, composed of Grohl, Pat Smear, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Rami Jaffee and their new drummer, Ilan Rubin, used the occasion to present the so-called ‘Take Cover Tour’, which will begin on August 4, 2026.

The stadium tour will begin in Toronto, Canada, and will travel to U.S. cities such as Detroit, Chicago, Philadelphia and Nashville, concluding on September 26 in Las Vegas.
The group led by the former drummer of legendary band Nirvana will be joined on most of their dates by Josh Homme’s Queens of the Stone Age.
General ticket sales for the ‘Take Cover Tour’ will begin on October 31, 2025, reported Agencia EFE.
