After a series of 12 sold-out performances in Mexico City, Colombian singer Shakira returned to the country to participate in one of the most anticipated events of the year: TelevisaUnivision’s Upfront 2025, where the network presented its content and projects for the coming year.
True to her style, the interpreter of Pies descalzos offered a show full of energy, charisma and great hits, in what became one of the highlights of the night. The presentation was described by the audience as a monumental production, with a large stage and a staging worthy of the international stadiums and arenas that the artist usually fills.

Galilea Montijo fulfills a dream by meeting Shakira
One of the most excited personalities with Shakira’s visit was Galilea Montijo, who had the opportunity to meet the artist backstage. The host of Hoy shared on her Instagram account a photo of the moment, as well as a video of her encounter with the singer of La loba.
In the clip, you can see how Montijo kindly asks Shakira for a greeting for her son Mateo, who currently lives in Acapulco with his father, businessman Fernando Reina. The singer sympathetically agreed, leaving a personalized message for the little boy.
“What a beauty Shakira! and to see her on stage, wow, what an artist!” wrote Galilea in the description of the publication, where she appears visibly excited next to the Colombian.

During the next day’s broadcast of Hoy, Galilea Montijo recounted the details of the experience to her colleagues and the audience.
“Shakira’s show, what great songs! I did have the honor of taking a picture with her, but you know, as a mom fan I said: ‘Can you send a greeting to my son?’ I uploaded the moment when I asked her for the video for Mateo, as a good mom. She’s a great girl,” shared the hostess with laughter.
The images of Galilea with Shakira quickly went viral on social networks, generating thousands of comments from fans who celebrated the artist’s gesture towards the host and her son.
TelevisaUnivision’s Upfront 2025 was characterized by its glamorous atmosphere and its line-up of luxury guests. Each year, the network organizes this event to present its most important productions for the following year, and usually features top international artists.
