The Mexican Soccer Federation released Thursday the list of players called up by coach Javier Aguirre, which includes ten players who play for clubs in Europe, among them Jiménez and Giménez.
The Mexican National Team will concentrate next Sunday in Oakland (California), where they will work for a week to prepare for the match with Japan, on September 6 at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum.
Three days later, the Mexican National Team will face South Korea at Geodis Park in Nashville.
After winning the Gold Cup last July by defeating the United States in the final, El Tri began a process that will last several months, aimed at observing the candidates to play in the World Cup.
Mexico, which will play two group stage matches in Mexico City and one in Guadalajara, will be aiming to reach at least the quarterfinals at the World Cup, as it did the other two times it hosted the World Cup, in 1970 and 1986.
