Spanish-language television in the United States is experiencing a transformational moment. On Monday, TelevisaUnivision marked what it called a “historic day” with the formal integration of Univision Noticias and N+, Televisa’s news platform in Mexico. The network’s U.S. news division now leaves behind the Noticias Univision name and adopts a new identity: N+ Univision.

The announcement was made during the program Despierta América, where journalist Satcha Pretto confirmed the change and stressed that this new phase reaffirms the network’s commitment to its audience. “As of today, our newscasts have a new image and we reaffirm our commitment to inform you,” she said.

The integration of N+ Mexico and Noticias Univision seeks to unify resources, talent and news coverage between Mexico and the United States, two key countries for the Hispanic community.

With this alliance, TelevisaUnivision is committed to a broader news network, with immediate presence in different parts of the world and greater editorial coordination.

Journalist Ilia Calderón, one of the most recognized figures in Spanish-language television journalism in the U.S., explained that this union will strengthen news coverage.

“We go hand in hand with N+, a great and respected news organization. We are more, we are closer and we are going to work closer together for you,” he said.

He also stressed that the goal is to offer faster and more complete coverage, with journalists ready to report from wherever the news is happening.

For his part, journalist Enrique Acevedo highlighted the scope and responsibility that this change implies.

“For decades we have been by your side with the most important information for your family, your community and the world. Today we reaffirm that commitment to the more than 60 million Hispanics living in the United States. Today we are stronger and closer than ever. Today we are N+ Univision,” he said.

This message seeks to reassure the audience that for years has relied on Univision News as one of its main sources of information, especially on key issues such as immigration, politics, economics, health and community affairs.

An alliance between Mexico and the United States

Journalist Maria Antonieta Collins, another historic figure of the network, emphasized that the merger will allow for greater proximity to Hispanic audiences on both sides of the border.

“It is to continue hand in hand with our audience, which we have supported and accompanied for more than four decades,” he said.

The creation of N+ Univision also responds to changes in news consumption, where audiences are looking for more immediate, multiplatform information with regional and international context.

By joining forces with N+, TelevisaUnivision strengthens its ability to cover events in Mexico, the United States and the rest of the world with a single editorial vision.

Univision Noticias Disappears?

Neither the journalism nor the familiar faces disappear, but the Noticias Univision brand as such does.

From now on, newscasts and news content will be presented under the name N+ Univision, a brand that seeks to project modernity, global reach and greater integration.

For U.S. Hispanic audiences, this change represents a commitment to more robust coverage connected to their realities, without losing the community focus that has characterized the network for decades.
